The Birth of a Dragon

Session 6 - Over a Day

Only two weeks had passed, and it was time for my next session. Since we weren't going over anything that had been done recently, we didn't have to wait as long between sessions this time. Session 6 was on Thursday, September 7th, 2006 at 3:00pm.

I don't think that Paul was looking forward to all the scales in his future, so he wanted to get as many of them out of the way as he could during this session. We got right to work on the body of the dragon. We did the black stripe first, and then went back for the purple. After that, we did the row of green and yellow back scales.

I don't know exactly why, but this session was hard for me. I hadn't slept well the night before, and I didn't have hardly anything to eat before I went in, so maybe that was it. At any rate, I couldn't get comfortable in the chair, and I wasn't taking the pain well at all. I was really ready to call it quits after little more than a couple of hours. Wanting to get as much done as possible though, I kept on going without complaining a bit. I don't know if Paul could tell that I wasn't feeling it or not, but luckily after 4 hours, we stopped.

We did acomplish a lot. The vast majority of the dragon is now done. All that is left of him are his two hind legs, some belly scales, and the tip of his tail. It is really starting to come together nicely now, and I can see the end approaching rapidly. Paul said that for the next session we will try to finish it up. It seems like there is too much to do for one session, but what do I know? What I know is that I will get more sleep and eat more food before going in again! :)

The 4 hours spent this session got us over the one day mark as far as time invested is concerned. After this sitting, we were 27 hours in.

The pictures were taken the following morning after I removed the bandages and took a shower.
